Devil. Origins of this distinctly mythical character are linked with one of the most important gods of the Indo-European nation – the image of Velinas. It was the patron of livestock, which explains various characteristics of the Devil: horns, hooves and the tail. During the Mardi Gras festivities the Devil romps, decoying into sin while also threatening with punishment of hell.
